Commission Junction A publisher, also known as an affiliate or reseller, is an independent party that promotes products and services of an advertiser in exchange for a commission on leads or sales. A publisher displays an advertiser's ads, text links, or product links on their Web site, in e-mail campaigns, or in search listings. The publisher is paid a commission by the respective advertiser when a visitor takes a specific action such as filling out a form, subscribing to a service (both lead examples) or making a purchase (a sale).

Founded in 1998, Commission Junction, a ValueClick company, is based in Santa Barbara, California and has offices around the world. Since our inception, we have taken great pride in being customer service fanatics while establishing ourselves as a global leader in the online advertising channels of affiliate marketing and managed search.

In 2001, they made a revolutionary move by publishing the performance metrics of all advertisers, publishers, and ads within our network, the CJ Marketplace. This approach provided both advertisers and publishers for the first time a way to gauge the value of their existing and potential relationships based on two key metrics – average earnings per 100 clicks (EPC) and network earnings – and fundamentally took affiliate marketing to the next level.

Today Commission Junction continues to move forward by offering a full suite of value-added services to customize its affiliate marketing solutions, dedicated support for top-performing publishers, as well as a fully managed search solution.

This has given me some ideas :). It would be great if HP would use a Link Share capsule or something to make writing for affiliates here easier but it is possible to text link in moderations so its not impossible. I may have a look at link share and Orbitz in particular for say travel articles.... I think I may have to bookmark this to re-read and come up with more ways to get affiliate sales :)

Hi Kirstenblog

I agree it would be nice.what i do is just link the hub to a blog with a link. that is what i did here. If you go to Orbitz and go to sign up they will toss you over to LinkShare to sign up.So sign up through my link here if you do. I would really appreciate it.

I will gladly sign up through your link when I am at the point of being able to expand my affiliate empire :D. I assume they have a similar referral type system that say HP has, they share their % with you the referrer? I like that system, gives me a way to help you out when I help myself out because you gave me the help in the first place. Ok I feel like I am talking in a circle with that last statement but I hope you get what I mean :)

I am such a dummy, hubby has already signed up with link share for this website and blog (both are inactive atm but hopefully will be ready for traffic soon). I am looking at the other one you mention, commission junction. Can I sign up through your link, giving you that referral? and what is your experience of them? I have heard a bit about them but less then link share. I am finding some success with amazon and think I must write a decent product hub so if they also do pretty cool products and services I might just be able to start earning there next. A few more product hubs to get more people through the amazon door and I might just be able to quit one of my part time jobs (fingers crossed) and start looking at how to expand and create more different streams of income. You know what they say, don't keep all your eggs in one basket!

I do have a blog but when I created it I had no idea what I was going to do with it or what it should be about haha. Hub Pages has been a great place to learn and try things out to see what works best, I intend in starting blogging with what I have learned here and since amazon links in with blogger I could start with them more easily, around my day jobs. Its a bummer that commission junction does not do a referral program :( as you deserve kudos with this hub :)

I signed up to an affiliate program with a company called Apple Solutions.

They do iPhone, iPad and iTouch unlocking/jailbreaking, so far Ive made about $110 in a week and a half.

Their conversion rates are pretty good, if you're looking for an affiliate program check them out.

Just flick them an email for more info - info.applesolutions@gmail.com

I have used many affiliate networks and from my own experience I can recommend Commission Junction. They charge a lot of money to accept new advertisers so you deal only with large companies which have enough money to create good products which have good conversions.
