What is a hangover
Too much alcohol depletes the bodies blood sugars,vitamins and minerals.
Hangovers are caused from the bodies need to process the alchol and get rid of the toxins. Toxins like methanol and acetones.Symptoms vary but may include headache,nausea,vomiting,dehydration,weak feeling,sleep disturbances and diarrhea.
Many of us have been there at one time or another. Promising to ourselves never to drink again !! Only to go out and do it again.
It is that time of year again. When we all over indulge sometimes. Eating too much,drinking too much.
Those nasty hangovers can really ruin the day. So here are some hangover remedies for you to try.
The day prior to make sure you drink lots of fresh juice and water. Keep yourself well hydrated.Take your vitamins.
Eat before you drink. It apparently helps soak up the alcohol. Now I know when I was young (not saying exactly how long ago ) we would drink milk and eat bread.
Water water and more water. Alcohol dehydrates the body. I suggest drinking glasses of water in-between drinks. It helps you stay hydrated,and slows down how much you consume.We all know alcohol robs the body of vitamins. I personally even take extra vitamin c before going to bed after a night of drinking.
It is proven drinking expensive booze is better than cheap. Less congeners.Congeners are toxic chemicals formed during fermentation some liquors have more than others. Congeners are widely responsible for headaches.
For example vodka has less congeners than gin. Most scotch whiskey has about four times more congeners than gin. Brandy,rum and single malt scotch have about six times more congeners than gin. Red wines have more than white.If wine is too young or from a bad harvest it may contain more substances that cause hangovers.
We all have heard not to mix your liquors. "beer before liquor,never sicker.Liquor before beer,have no fear". Also remember carbonation speeds up the process of absorption. So if you have been drinking beer all night,then switch to liquor with a carbonated mix,your going to absorb that alcohol much faster now.Including the alcohol from all the beer you drank. You will regret it.
Use fresh juice for your drinks instead of pop.If you have a juice blender,great !! They taste great and it is better for you.
Personally for me. I will pop some extra vitamin c and a multi vitamin before a night of drinks. I will definitely drink water throughout the night as well. A glass of milk before bed. Vitamins and water when I get up.
Whatever you do remember please if you are going out ,do not drink and drive. Arrange your transportation ahead of time.
Some recipe Ideas
Remember it helps to use fresh juice whenever you can. This helps our bodies when drinking by replenishing lost vitamins. Definitely helps for the next morning. Drink water between your drinks.
Margarita
1 oz Gold Tequila
.5 ozSilver Tequila
.5 oz Triple Sec
.5 oz Orange Curacao
.5 oz Lime juice
2 Lime Wedges
Rim margarita glass with salt.You need a good coarse sea salt.Take a piece of lime and rub it aroud the rim of the glass. Then dip in your salt. Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Squeeze limes and add to tin. Shake vigorously and pour into a margarita glass.
I love a good margarita. We make ours with fresh squeezed lime juice only. The best tequila we can get. Well worth it.They are delicous.
Tequila Morning
1.25 oz of silver Tequila
4.5 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
splash of grenadine
combine ingredients in a rocks glass filled with ice.
BLOODY MARY
1-1/2 oz. Polar Ice vodka
4oz. tomato juice
Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce
Pepper
Lemon wedge
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add 11/2oz. vodka, a dash of Tabasco, 2 dashes of Worcestershire and 4 oz. tomato juice. Stir to mix. Add a pinch of pepper and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Dreamweaver
1-1/2 oz. Bacardi white rum
Juice of 1/8 fresh lemon
4oz. white cranberry and strawberry juice
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1-1/2 oz. Bacardi white rum, the juice of
1/8 fresh lemon and 4oz. white cranberry and strawberry juice
makes 1 serving
Mocachino
1. To a heatproof mug (with crushed candy cane rim), add 1 oz. Kahlúa, 2 oz. hot chocolate and 3 oz. hot coffee.
2. Top with whipped cream if desired
Makes 1 Serving

Dreamweaver sounds tasty, good to get that vitamin C in your system when you drink. I would also recommend B1, B6, B12 and magnesium as they have been shown in a number of studies to reduce the negative effects of drinking.
